A Mixed Herbal Drink Potentially Preventing Stroke

Technology Overview

Herbal drink is consumed by billions of people worldwide to prevent and treat internal heat and a range of associated health conditions. World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that four billion people are still relying on traditional/herbal medicine and believe that herbal medicine is safe for consumption. Furthermore, stroke is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. However, oral administration for stroke is limited.

The technology uses biomedical extraction to obtain the highest possible benefits from the mixed herbs to develop a ready-to-drink herbal drink. The herbal drink consists of three herbal ingredients with ginger as the key ingredient.

Ginger (Zingiber Officinale) is one of the most widely used spices due to its medicinal and nutritious value. It is also documented to promote circulatory function as well as anti-inflammatory, anti-plaque, and antioxidant properties. Active compounds from ginger displayed similar effects from synthetic drugs for stroke prevention. Hence, herbal drinks with ginger demonstrated therapeutic potentials in lowering stroke risk.
